Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia congratulated Hassan Rowhani on being elected president of the Islamic Republic of Iran and expressed the hope that relations of the Russian Orthodox Church with Iran will be getting better all the time.

“The Russian Orthodox Church highly values the level of interaction with religious forces and authorities of Iran. I hope that this cooperation will continue strengthening in the years of your presidency,” says the message of Patriarch Kirill to Iran’s president-elect.

In the opinion of the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Hassan Rowhani’s victory in the election was the convincing proof of the country’s confidence in his program. “I hope that under your guidance Iran will continue the course at political, social and economic development,” Patriarch Kirill noted.

He wished Hassan Rowhani good health, God’s help and success in serving the state and wished peace and prosperity to the people of Iran.
