التقى البطريرك يوحنا العاشر بطريرك أنطاكية وسائر المشرق للروم الارثوذكس البابا فرنسيس في القصر الرسولي في حاضرة الفاتيكان.
وتطرق اللقاء الخاص الذي جمع قداسته بغبطته إلى يوم الصلاة من أجل لبنان المزمع عقده غداً في الفاتيكان والذي دعا إليه قداسة البابا رؤساء الطوائف المسيحية في لبنان. كما تطرق أيضاً إلى الوضع المسيحي في الشرق الأوسط من كل جوانبه.
عرض غبطته لقداسته وجهة النظر الانطاكية القائلة بالانفتاح على الجميع ونبذ التقوقع وضرورة مد جسور الانفتاح على كل المكونات.
نوه غبطته بالدور المناط بالكرسي الرسولي لإنقاذ لبنان عبر الدفع إلى تشكيل حكومة ودعم ما يجمع من طروحات وما يحظى بتوافق لتقرير مصير لبنان الواحد في العيش المشترك والمواطنة.
كما عرض غبطته الأوضاع في سوريا منوهاً إلى ضرورة رفع العقوبات عن سوريا وعن لبنان كونها تطال المواطن في لقمة عيشه.
وتطرق اللقاء إلى قضية مطراني حلب المخطوفين بولس يازجي ويوحنا ابراهيم وإلى ضرورة الوصول إلى النهاية المرجوة لهذا الملف الذي يتناساه المجتمع الدولي.
من جهته نوه قداسته بالدور الرائد لكنيسة أنطاكية في محيطها وأكد مضي الكرسي الرسولي في كل ما من شأنه خير لبنان والمنطقة.
هذا ورافق غبطته إلى القصر الرسولي من الجانب الأنطاكي المتروبوليت سلوان موسي (جبل لبنان) والأرشمندريت برثنيوس اللاطي.

Patriarch John X meets Pope Francis

HB John X, the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East met Pope Francis at the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican City.The private meeting between His Holiness and His Beatitude touched upon the day of prayer for Lebanon to be held tomorrow in the Vatican, at the invitation of His Holiness to all the heads of Christian communities in Lebanon. The meeting also touched on the Christian situation in the Middle East in all its aspects.
His Beatitude expressed to His Holiness the Antiochian point of view: tolerance, refusing introversion and exclusion, and building bridges of inclusion to all components.
His Beatitude commended the role entrusted to the Holy See to save Lebanon by exerting pressure for establishing a Lebanese government and by supporting the combined proposals and consensus to determine the fate of one united Lebanon in coexistence and citizenship.
His Beatitude also presented the situation in Syria, noting the necessity to lifting sanctions on Syria and Lebanon, as they affect the citizen’s livelihood.
The meeting also touched on the issue of the kidnapped bishops of Aleppo, Paul Yazigi and Yohanna Ibrahim, as it is necessary to reach the desired end of this file, which is still disregarded by the international community.
For his part, His Holiness appraised the pioneer role of the Church of Antioch in the region and affirmed the continuous endeavor of the Holy See’s towards all that is for the good of Lebanon and the region.
The Antiochian delegation which accompanied His Beatitude was formed of Metropolitan Silouan Moussa (of Mount Lebanon) and Archimandrite Parthenios Al-Latti.

Sa Béatitude Jean X, le patriarche grec orthodoxe d’Antioche et de tout l’Orient a rencontré le pape François au Palais apostolique de la Cité du Vatican.La rencontre privée entre Sa Sainteté et Sa Béatitude a porté sur la journée de prière pour le Liban qui se tiendra demain au Vatican, à l’invitation de Sa Sainteté à tous les chefs des communautés chrétiennes du Liban. Ils ont également abordé la situation chrétienne au Moyen-Orient sous tous ses aspects.
Sa Béatitude a exprimé à Sa Sainteté le point de vue antiochien : tolérance, refus de l’introversion et de l’exclusion, et construction de ponts d’inclusion vers toutes les composantes.
Sa Béatitude a salué le rôle confié au Saint-Siège pour sauver le Liban en exerçant des pressions pour établir un gouvernement libanais. Le Vatican joue un rôle essentiel en soutenant les propositions combinées et le consensus pour déterminer le sort d’un Liban unifié dans la coexistence et la citoyenneté.
Sa Béatitude a également présenté la situation en Syrie, notant la nécessité de lever les sanctions contre la Syrie et le Liban, car elles affectent les moyens de subsistance des citoyens.
Il fut également question des évêques kidnappés d’Alep, Paul Yazigi et Yohanna Ibrahim, vu la nécessité de parvenir au terme souhaité de ce dossier, toujours ignoré par la communauté internationale.
Pour sa part, Sa Sainteté a apprécié le rôle pionnier de l’Église d’Antioche dans la région et a affirmé l’effort continu du Saint-Siège envers tout ce qui est pour le bien du Liban et de la région.
La délégation antiochienne qui accompagnait Sa Béatitude était formée du métropolite Silouan Moussa (du Mont Liban) et de l’archimandrite Parthenios Al-Latti.
