The snakes of the Panagia have appeared in Arginia!
Tuesday August 6th, a Supplication Service was conducted by Archimandrite Fr. Gerasimos Phokas, during which the first snake appeared.
From Tuesday August 6th until the 15th of August other snakes will emerge. You can visit the village and see them up close!
When the snakes come out, it is considered good luck for Kefalonia. The two years they didn’t emerge, in 1940 and 1953, the island suffered war and earthquakes.
